Sailing, fishing and Munk island visit at 12:15 –  approx. 17:00

We meet at the fish marked/inner harbor called “Ravnkloa” (“the footh of the raven”) at 12:15 for boarding two old sailing ships. We will first visit the Munk island just outside Trondheim, and then go sailing on the fjord. We can be fishing from the boats. We will provide something suitable to drink, you all have to bring a sandwich or just fresh fjord shrimps and bread for lunch. There will be no possibility of buying food on the island or on the fjord, so please bring your own lunch food. This could be bought at the fish marked (including meat and vegetables) or anywhere else in town. Don’t forget cloths that could stand both nice sunshine and heavy rain storms, normally we have all four seasons in a day in Trondheim.

We haven’t booked any restaurants for the Saturday night, but we can at least meet at the Good Neighbour pub for a drink at 19:00. It is located by the old town bridge by the river Nidelva, or actually we can sit on a float in the river. It is located on the Bakklandet side of the river, i.e. not the downtown side.

Sunday May 13

For those who want to and have time, we can go to some places like:

- Tyholt tower, not far from Thursday night restaurant, overlooking the city and the surroundings

- The Bymarka hills just outside town. We can take the tramway to Lian, and walk in the hills of the town.

- The Sverresborg Folk museum, showing old Norwegian buildings and the way people used to live before we discovered oil in the North Sea.

- A short visit to our laboratories, including the indoor river “Gurobekken”

- A football or rugby match played by COST 626 at the lawns beside the Tyholt tower

- The beach

- A pub…
