Working Group “Modelling” (WG 2) within COST Action 626

As the chairperson of the Working Group “Modelling” (WG 2) within COST Action 626 I suggest the following directives for the first meetings of WG 2 to be held in Stuttgart, Germany.

Most important goals and objectives of the meeting:

Define state of the art and research needs for modelling tools and techniques on different levels and scales in all participating countries. Herein, a model is defined by any type of methodology, from simple correlations to more advanced numerical algorithms using sets of raw data to produce a result.

All participants of WG 2 are asked to prepare their contributions (presentations in part 1, opinion and oral contributions for the rest, you have to get active!) for each of the topics above. Short presentations can be given with overheads or Power Point. However, as you have only a few minutes, I suggest to use overheads because this is simply faster, or prepare your Power Point presentation on a disk or CD, however be aware that we will not be able to change computers between 5 minutes presentations, so if you use anything but standard ascii signs, you will get some funny results if you run your presentation on another computer.

Please, give me a note if you are going to give a 5-min presentation during the full session on Thursday or not, so the MC can arrange some schedule.
